Improvements

My friend came up from DC this weekend and helped me paint and decorate a lot! First we painted one wall red, then we added stripes to my happy yellow hallway.

Then she helped me make panels to hang on the walls in the hallway.

She also help me cut fabric out for these and helped me moved my headboard.

Last, we also decided to hang this thing I got on the red wall to counterbalance the overpowering effect of the wall.

Improvements

I got the fabric to make the shower curtain. After sewing the buttonholes on top, I thought it was too plain, so I added some green beads. Still a bit plain I think, but for now, it'll do, since I am too lazy to make another one right now. While I was at it, I also made a cover for the door :)

Here is the new table and chairs I bought from craigslist. I am not loving the chair pads, but for now, i'll keep them on.

furniture rearrangement

I rearranged my furniture and created a reading nook using a chair and the new lamp i got. In the process of cleaning, I also found a place for me to put my laptop. Now all i need to make is a foot stool for my feet!

Dollar skirts

Mark and I went to a flea market last weekend near our house. Of course, I picked up some vintage pillowcases for 50 cents each to satisfy my fabric obsession. A few nights ago, I made them into simple skirts!

One of them is a drawstring skirt, the other has an elastic waist. I added some ribbons.
