NY Landmarks

For those of you who know me, you know that I love to walk. Sometimes I daydream or conjur up stories in my head, sometimes I simply enjoy the scenery.
Here are some pictures taken on my way home tonight.
First, you should recognize these-

Then, here is another one of my favorite structures in the city.

I thought these look cool.

CA parks

Aiya! Originally, I was thinking about posting pictures of the parks in alphabetical order... but after looking at these pictures, I realize that I will be here all night, coffee or no coffee, if I do it that way. So decided that the national parks postings will have to wait until another time. For now, here are some more pictures of parks in CA and more pictures I took on the way to the parks :) Looking at these, I can't wait until my next vacation!

For a city girl, it makes me irrationally happy looking at farms and... moo--moo- cows :) When I drove cross country with C years ago, he noticed that I mooed whenever I saw cows. Is that even normal?

No more coffee...

Still awake... to the point that I dug up my external drive and decided to go retro- and post pictures of the national parks I've been to. Ugh, did you know I have to analyze about 400 patents by Wednesday?!

Anyway, this is Arches National Park.

Let's see what else is on here...

This is one of my favorite buildings in NYC. I don't go to that area very often and just happened to be there recently. It seems misplaced, and doesn't quite scream NYC, but hey, I like old things :)

Excuses, excuses!

It seems that I have some really random pictures of Central Park. Well, one logical explanation is that I've been lazy. SO instead of running in the morning, my legs somehow negotiate with my brain and i get myself "pictures days." Instead of running, I stroll around in the morning for an hour looking and taking random pictures.

No relations

Ok, this post is really random. Not only do the pictures have nothing to do with each other, besides the fact that I think they are both pretty, they were taken at least 6 months apart.

The first one was just something I saw on my way to an event last fall. (To those in the know, this is the SHOE story night...it seems that I *lose* my shoes more often than Cinderella.)

I just took the second one last night on the way to get Pinkberry with D. Of course, my old little 4 mp was laughed out of Columbus Circle by 10 mp Canon super fisheye setup in the hands of a guy next to us, wearing an Adobe hat. I bet he is really good with Photoshop.

@#$ Coffee

i can't sleep because I had coffee today... so here I am finally posting about my new wall!

This was actually done during Memorial Day weekend when X came to visit. After living with a blue wall for 2 yeas, it was time to make my living room not only looking but also sounding yummy- "peanut butter" yummy. We spent one prepping and priming and paint two coats in flat. Then HOURS of taping these overlapping squares. Another coat of the same color, but in a shinier finish. It's super cool. You can't see the pattern all that much when you look at it straight on. But from an angle, you can see the pattern!
